Mount Tie Downs facing down and the anchors sit under the SmartDeck, clear of whatever you've loaded—so you can run a bungee or a strap up over the item and hook it underneath, where your hands can still reach. The opposite is true when carrying loads under the SmartDeck: anchor the Tie Downs on top, and strap around underneath.
