Regular cleaning of your Cruiser’s swivel wheels ensures optimal performance and prevents unnecessary wear, especially during warm weather. Follow these steps to properly clean the swivel wheel assembly.
Tools Required
- Two (2) 5mm Hex Wrenches
- Compressed Air
- Dry Silicone Lubricant (Optional)
PROCEDURE
/01: Remove the Bolt
Use both 5mm hex wrenches simultaneously on each side of the wheel to remove the bolt. This prevents the axle from spinning while you work.

/02: Disassemble the Wheel
Slide the axle and swivel bushings out of the swivel assembly. The wheel should now be detached.

/03: Clean the Components
Use a paper towel and compressed air to remove dirt and debris from the axle, bushings and wheel.

/04: Reassemble
Reinsert the axle and bushings into the swivel housing, placing a plastic bushing on either side of the wheel. Tighten the bolt until the wheel spins freely but without excess play.

Apply a dry silicone lubricant to the axle to reduce wear over time.
